About
Boston Big Local then collaborated with Boston Borough Council’s Empowering Healthy Communities Programme to ensure this project was supported and shared across the Borough, County, Country and ultimately other Boston’s in America, Jamaica and Ireland.
Boston Big Local
Boston Big Local (BBL) is one of 150 areas that have been awarded £1million to make a lasting and positive difference to their local community.
The project is being steered by a local Resident Partnership Group and coordinated through Age UK Lincoln & South Lincolnshire, which is acting as the Local Trusted Organisation (LTO) for the project.
Boston Big Local is a ten year programme, managed by Local Trust aiming to make a big difference to the local area and bring long-lasting change to the lives of those people living and working there.
Empowering Healthy Communities
Boston Borough Council’s Empowering Healthy Communities Programme is a health and wellbeing initiative, designed to support residents during and beyond Covid-19. Working with organisations, volunteers and communities leaders from across the borough to deliver the scheme, which received a £500,000 grant from the Government’s Community Champions Fund.
There are a wide range of activities taking place with the aim to strengthen links within Boston’s diverse communities, build trust and confidence.
One key strand of the programme is Pride in Place where we have a programme of activities bringing local people together.
